Wedgwood Exhibit

Old
Franklin County Jail
A
new exhibit will be on display in Chambersburg, PA beginning December 1st and continuing throughout the month of
December. The Josiah Wedgewood exhibit will feature numerous pieces of his well
known and collectible Jasperware pottery, a type of stoneware noted for its matte finish and most collectible in its original
blue color. The exhibit will explore some of the history of the pieces and the
English potter.
The exhibit will be on display at the Old Jail Museum located at 175 E. King Street, Chambersburg, and is sponsored
by the Franklin County Historical Society – Kittochtinny

Franklin
County Historical Society – Kittochtinny Docents have come together to decorate the John Brown House in Chambersburg, PA in 1860 German holiday
fashion for “Tis the Season” Holiday Open House, Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 1:00
pm – 4:00 pm.
Visitors
will have the opportunity to view the historic structure festooned with period decorations; fragrant greens, walnuts,
dried fruits, strings of popcorn, period toys and more. Refreshments will be
served at this free event open to the public.
The John Brown House, located
at 225 E. King Street, Chambersburg, PA is owned and operated by the Franklin County Historical Society – Kittochtinny,
175 E. King Street, Chambersburg, PA.

Annual Campaign
The Annual Campaign for the
support of the Franklin County Historical Society - Kittochtinny is underway. We have a goal of $50,000. This
is an espically important event given the failure of the State to support it's historic heritage. Contributions can
be directed to the society at 175 East King Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201

JOHN BROWN HOUSE REDEDICATED
The John Brown house was
rededicated and reopened on May 2, 2009. It is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM with the last tour at 3 PM.
